It’s actually the perfect model to demonstrate how the body and it’s many unique internal structures organize themselves. If you tug on any part of the toy, it creates a tension into the entire system.
Have you ever felt this in your own body? It can cause neck and jaw pain, headaches, or heaviness in your joints or muscles, often unexplainable or unresolved from past “injuries”. Trauma, such as a fall, whiplash, sports injury, surgery, repetitive stress injury, C-section, or simply habitual poor posture and faulty set up of work stations have cumulative effects on our bodies, resulting in a “drag” on our entire three-dimensional being. Anatomically, because our fascia is densely woven through and around every muscle fiber, bone, nerve, blood vessel, and internal organ, the fascial system is the single most important and determining factor in our ability to withstand stress and perform daily activities without pain.
If you have been suffering from chronic pain or injuries that don’t seem to resolve, or if you’ve been unsuccessful with the therapy you’ve tried, I invite you to investigate a new approach to healing that focuses on releasing the “drag” on your system that’s hindering your complete recovery to health.
I specialize in myofascial release, which is a very specific hands-on technique that identifies and releases restrictions in the connective tissues (fascia) that may be causing your pain and hindering normal patterns of movement. I work one-on-one with my patients, all hands-on, no modalities or aides, and I would love the opportunity to partner with you in investigating, treating and resolving that which is holding you back from doing what you love to do.
I am available for 15-minute phone or in person consultations to discuss how you might specifically benefit from myofascial release work.
