Where did you grow up?  How long have you lived in the area?  Tell us about your family.  Where do you live now?

I’m a Southern California girl – I was born in Laguna, but when my dad took a job with Scripps Hospital, our family moved to Solana Beach. I became a Torrey Pines Falcon and specialized setter for the volleyball team, running track in the off-season. After graduation, I moved up the coast a few miles to UCSB, studying journalism, and later took a great big leap to Boston where I earned my doctorate in physical therapy at Massachusetts General Hospital. My husband is a Boston native, worked for Boston Scientific, and we were married in Cape Cod. With the birth of our first daughter, we chose to settle back in Encinitas Ranch, and have enjoyed raising our daughters Jada (14) and Jenna (11) close to the beach and in great schools. They are my favorite people in the world and I love watching them dance. These days especially, I’m extremely proud of my husband Matthew and his hard work and dedication to running the UCSD Moore’s Cancer Center.

What led you, both personally and professionally, to where you are now?

Since I can remember, I’ve always had a fascination with the human body, and what makes us feel “alive”. I’m a sponge for everything I can find on nutrition, bioenergetics, frequency devices, and all things fascia. As a competitive athlete managing teenage scoliosis, I was a great test subject. My early experiences in chiropractic, osteopathic, and physical therapy offices began a lifelong journey of curiosity, study, and ultimately a rewarding clinical and academic career.

How did you start your business and what is unique about your approach?

In late 2017, I teamed up with Indigo Dragon Center to create a unique physical therapy practice in a retreat that offers my patients a very individualized holistic approach to their healing. Though I’m grounded in science and traditionally trained, I also incorporate bioenergetic readings through a specialized frequency device that can quickly scan, prioritize and treat the body’s most urgent needs. Once the body clears the “energetic debris”, healing can truly begin to occur quickly and painlessly.

Therefore, I use a combination of my experience, my intuition, and through measures of frequency, I can determine the root causes of why certain conditions are manifesting. Pain is a request for change, but it’s rarely where the problem is. Your low back may hurt, but it may be an emotional or energetic disconnect. It could be related to a C-Section and the scarring through your abdomen or a weakened immune system.

We are magnificent beings- an intricate combination of physical, mental, emotional, and bioenergetics. Without a true understanding and appreciation of the bio-electrical system of the body, we are shooting in the dark with our treatment approaches. I think my 10 years teaching human anatomy dissection to the UCSD Medical students taught me that. We are all quite similar under the skin. What makes us each who we are and what determines how we will heal is our life force, the “prana”, the “chi”, and the energetic frequencies which bring it all to life.

What is a first visit like with you?

First and foremost, I listen to you.  I take the time to understand the whole picture.  We explore what has worked, what modalities you’ve tried, and then we dig into why you are still suffering.  A PT appointment with me isn’t your typical ice, massage, and a run through exercises.  I rely on my PT expertise, fascial release skills, and add in cutting edge technologies that use frequency and your own bodies infrared to get further faster.  You will always be greeted with a genuine interest in getting you to a place where you can live your best.

What do you like to do when you are not working?

I love all things outdoors! I feel energized by nature, the ocean, feeling the sand in my toes, and connecting with my friends and community. I love to walk the Encinitas Ranch trails and listen to meditations, my music and high-five my neighbors. Thursday mornings you can find me huffing it up and down the stairs from Swami’s to PCG with my bestie Karen from PT school who never lets me win! I am also an avid member of Core Power Yoga, which allows me a treasured uninterrupted hour for self-reflection, breath work and energetic reset. Ultimately, I treasure my family time. I am incredibly blessed to be a wife and mom, and everyday brings new challenges and opportunities to grow together.

What would you like to share with the community?

With all of the craziness of 2020, I think there is a great opportunity to really become clear on who we are, and who choose to be in any situation. It’s really the only thing we can truly “control”.  It’s a time to be gentle with ourselves and nurture with self-care. For me, it’s been a great time of self-reflection and how I can best contribute with passion to caring for our community.

After 25 years in the wellness industry, I am now at a place where I can combine so many powerfully effective methods of treatment. There is nothing better than walking the journey with a patient from suffering to freedom.
